Thanksgiving 2020
Thanksgiving 2020. A year that has left us dazed and confused. A year that has left far too many struggling to make ends meet, to feed families and pets, to pay bills, to keep business afloat. Tragically, a year that means some of us will miss and mourn loved ones. Our hearts ache for those who are hurting. In lieu of gifts this holiday season, Paul and I are giving to amazing groups who do so much to help those in need. Since it's my industry, I want to acknowledge a few wedding related things I'm thankful for. Thankfully my husband's brother went ahead and got married a few days ago, taking his vows behind a glass door, separated from his bride while he recovers from a milder case of covid. Thankfully my husband's nephew got married last month in a park and the few in attendance stayed healthy. Thankfully nobody got sick from the September minimony at our house. These three weddings were not what they were "supposed" to be, but you know what? Thankfully, they all were amazing in their own way!
Bentley can't decide if he likes the blue shoes or the ivory shoes better. The white silk clutch can be dyed to match either pair.
So, what comes to mind every Thanksgiving? Food of course. Turkey, cranberry sauce, stuffing, pumpkin pie and the rest of the feast. Let's all pitch in so there's enough to feed the long food lines forming around the country, if you can, to help our fellow Americans out. What else is synonymous with Thanksgiving? Black Friday. The day after Thanksgiving when stores normally start seeing a profit as holiday shopping kicks into full gear. Like 2020 weddings, holiday shopping won't be what it's "supposed" to be. Experts are saying a lot of it will be online (smart and safe) rather than crowding into shopping malls. Shopping online from the safety of your home will protect you, your family and our fellow citizens, and help get the pandemic under control while we await the vaccines.
Each month the savings increase. You'll find great deals on earrings, bracelets and hair accessories. Jewelry is always a welcome gift. If your wedding is in 2021 or 2022, take advantage of these savings now. The more money saved on purchases we must make means more money available to help others out during a rough time.
